New City Public Schools (NCPS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charter management organization that is building a network of high-quality, public charter schools in underserved communities throughout Long Beach and Los Angeles. The NCPS education program offers an innovative, dual immersion (English-Spanish) curriculum based on constructivist theory, with an emphasis on bilingualism and multiculturalism, creative expression and reasoning, arts, health, community engagement and a commitment to social justice.

Since August 2000, NCPS has successfully operated the New City School – Pine Avenue Campus, in Long Beach, California, serving as a model for innovative urban public education at its finest. In spring 2007, NCPS began implementing a five-year expansion plan to open four new K-8 schools and a high school along the Los Angeles County Metro Rail Blue Line from Long Beach to downtown Los Angeles.
